Shelter & School Construction

Under this program SJA had been and has been implementing a good number of constructions and renovation works at the government primary schools, government girl’s orphanage and other institutions. The orphanage renovation program’s ultimate goal is to ensure that the Girls of the orphanage have access to comprehensive health and hygiene facilities; improving their health condition, dignity, quality education, and security to produce a healthy and productive citizen. This scheme should provide not only renovation and repairing works of damaged toilets and shower rooms, but should also educate the orphan girls concerning health and hygiene issues.

And the government primary schools’ renovation and construction work goal is to ensure an uninterrupted favorable/positive learning atmosphere for the children of mainstream primary education of rural community/areas to ensure sustainable quality education at the grassroots. These proposed projects have been undertaken in view of the extreme hardship of Govt. Primary schools of the rural and hard-to-reach area of Moulvibazar, Sunamgonj and Sylhet district under Sylhet division. These school buildings are in hazardous conditions that are not permissible for child safety and quality education, during rain & hot time mostly classes terminated/canceled. By this time SJA has been successfully completed the following projects:

• – Ensure Learning Atmosphere through Renovation of Mainstream Schools (ELARMS);
• – Low-cost School and Toilet at Bashbari and Borobazar;
• – Low-cost School Construction at Malnicherra Tea Estate;
• – Low-cost School Construction at Goaipara;
• – Lakkatura Tea Garden – 2 School Construction;
• – Renovation of Sarampur Government Primary School;
• – Law Cost School Construction for the disadvantaged children of Tea Garden-Sylhet;
• – Sunamgonj Government Girls Orphanage Renovation Project (Bangladesh);
• – Renovation works at Ashampara and Bollapunji Govt. Primary School of Gowainghat Upazila, Sylhet;
