A H M Faisal is a prominent development activist who has been serving humanity for the last 34 years of time. A H M Faisal Ahmed has been an active Rotarian since 1995. As a development activist, he served the United Nations UNV Program under UNDP Nepal and Korea Youth Volunteers (KYV) under Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

In late 1991 while he finished his assignment to the UNV program (under UNDP Nepal) he returned back at home and organized local philanthropists and formed SJA on August 12, 1991 and currently working as Executive Director of Sylhet Jubo Academy. Furthermore, he is the ‘District Governor 2024-25’ of Rotary International District 3282, Bangladesh and will take over his responsibilities as the District Governor on 1^st July 2024. 

He is an action oriented visionary person who thinks globally and acts with commitment, hard-ship and always seems to be the perfectionist. He was involved with numbers of legendary organizations within the country and abroad. He has held the positions of Vice President of National Association of Sports of Persons with Disability-Sylhet; Executive Committee Member of Public Private Partnership Network of Nicare Bangladesh;  National Committee Member of ‘We Can EVAW Alliance’ a platform to end domestic violence; Executive Committee Member of National Forum of Organizations Working with the Disabled; Executive Committee Member of National STD/AIDS Network of Bangladesh; Chairperson of Association of Development Agencies in Bangladesh- Sylhet chapter; Chairman of Voluntary Association for Rural Development -a National NGO etc.

In his Rotary career, he served Rotary International D3280 and D3282 in different positions including District Secretary, Assistant Governor, important District Committees including Vocational Awareness, Safe Water and Sanitation, Family of Rotary etc., as Chair. He successfully organized district events like District Installation, District TRF Seminar, and District RYLA etc., as Chair and Committee Member. Since 2018, he has been serving the District Training Team as Additional District Trainer.

He has specialization in Institutional Capacity Building, Strategic Planning & Resource Mobilization, Project Design & Management, Gender, and Disaster Management.

As a devoted social activist, he received the prestigious “Indira Gandhi Padak” in the year 2015 and “Sher-E-Bangla Padak” in the year 2016.

Rtn. A H M Faisal Ahmed an MBA in Human Resource Management has completed an NGO Management degree from Coady International Institute, St. Francis Xavier University Canada.

Mr. Ahmed has taken part in many symposiums and workshops internationally as a resource person. Faisal Ahmed is a widely travelled person, and has visited many countries of the world including Austria, China, UAE, England, Hungary, India, Kingdom of Saudi-Arabia, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan & Thailand for the purpose of holidaying and participating conferences, seminars, symposiums and professional training programs. He Represented Bangladesh NGOs in the Strategic Planning Workshop of Asia Pacific Council of AIDS Service Organizations in the Philippines in 2004.

He is a man of good nature, a social activist, enjoys fellowship and always likes to keep himself involved with social causes that address the needs of the nation and bring forth positive change in the community.
